With expertise spanning renewable energy, private equity, and financial strategy, he has played a pivotal role in closing landmark deals, building high-performance teams, and delivering significant investor returns.

As a Partner at Telkes Clean Energy, Abid has successfully raised $250 million for a European solar IPP while navigating strategic shifts in investment direction. He is also an Investor at Lumina Renewables, contributing to renewable energy investments across Europe, and the Founder of DigitalBattery, a cutting-edge technology firm revolutionizing battery performance with a $100 million pipeline.

His leadership extends across board advisory roles, including Greencells Group, where he structured business operations and raised €250 million in financing, and UrbanChain.com, a blockchain-based renewable energy exchange where he oversaw Series A funding.

From 2013 to 2021, Abid was a Partner at NextEnergy Capital Group, where he helped grow the firm into a leading solar energy investment manager. As CEO of WiseEnergy Asset Management, he expanded AUM to €6 billionglobally, delivering superior investment performance. He also played a key role in launching NextEnergy Solar Fund (NESF.L) on the London Stock Exchange, scaling its enterprise value from £86.5 million to over £1 billion through strategic M&A and capital deployment.

His earlier career includes executive roles at Shape Energy, Mouchel, Serco, Siemens, and PwC, leading transformational projects in infrastructure, renewable energy, and financial services. He has also founded and exited multiple ventures, including Carpe Diem Limited and ClusterSeven, demonstrating his ability to drive growth and innovation.

Abid holds an MBA from Manchester Business School, with an international exchange at Miami University, and has extensive experience in structured finance from his early career at Chase Manhattan Bank and National Westminster Bank.
